Shadow ReportVNR

In 2024, 36 countries presented their Voluntary National Reviews (VNRs). Among these, only five were from the European region: Armenia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Georgia, and Spain. To close the year, we’re hosting an engaging online event that brings together civil society representatives from these countries to share their unique perspectives.

What to Expect:

  • Insights into stakeholder engagement processes around VNRs.
  • Presentations of alternative or shadow reports.
  • Discussions on the use of the People’s Scorecard to analyze national SDG implementation.

We will hear from:

  • Armenia: Civil society insights on alternative reporting and People’s Scorecard by Green Lane
  • Austria: Reflections on national VNR processes and civil society’s role by SDG Watch Austria
  • Azerbaijan: Civil society insights and challenges on alternative reporting
  • Georgia: Civil society insights on alternative reporting and People’s Scorecard by CENN – Caucasus Environmental NGO Network
  • Spain:  Reflections on national VNR processes and civil society insights on alternative reporting by INICIO – Futuro en Común

This is a unique opportunity for everyone interested in understanding how stakeholder engagement is shaping SDG implementation as we approach the second half of the 2030 Agenda timeline.

We especially encourage participation from representatives of 2025 VNR countries in the UNECE region: Belarus, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Finland, Germany, Israel, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyz Republic, and Malta – and beyond.
