Georgia

Yesterday, the Georgian Parliament adopted the controversial law on foreign agents. At SDG LENS, we stand in solidarity with our partners and colleagues in Georgia, and we oppose this decision.

We believe that civil society around the world shares core values such as human rights, sustainable development, and global justice. Those who champion these causes at the national level should not be labeled as foreign agents, regardless of their funding sources. We are all change-makers, dedicated to making the world a better place.

This law will not benefit Georgian society, as we have seen similar laws create obstacles and even criminalize civil society in other countries. This harmful practice must be stopped in Georgia and everywhere.

Support Georgian civil society to #StopTheLaw target against NGOs and independent media!
